What it is
Perforated pool fencing is a sheet of marine-grade aluminium (the kind boats are built from) with thousands of small holes punched through it, held in a strong frame. You see the pool through it. The breeze comes through it. And there is no glass to clean. Every PoolPerf® panel is made to measure in our own Queensland factory.

How a PoolPerf® panel is built
Any perforated fence is a sheet with holes in it, held in a frame. The difference between one and another is in how carefully that is done. This is how we do it.
Each piece of the frame has tabs that lock into slots cut in the next piece. That joint is what stops the frame twisting and keeps it square, and it is unique to PoolPerf®.
The sheet with the holes in it goes in on its own, once the frame is already assembled and square. It is never sandwiched in during assembly and hoped for the best.
The sheet is riveted around the entire edge of the frame. The rivets are pre-treated against corrosion and powder coated (given a baked-on colour finish), so the fixings match the panel and add strength instead of becoming the weak point.
The result is a panel that behaves as one piece. It spans up to 3 metres between posts, where most others stop at 2 metres.

PurePerf® is our flagship: a plain panel with a clean, even pattern of holes. It has 63% open area, which means more of the panel is hole than metal. From a few metres back you stop seeing it, and you are left with the pool, the garden and the view beyond. Up close it looks like a fine texture, not a fence.
That open area is doing real work. It lets sea breezes and hot afternoon air move through instead of banking up against a solid panel. That matters more than people expect on a still summer evening, and a great deal in a cyclone-prone postcode.

Made to last
2.5mm thick 5052 aluminium, the alloy boats are built from. Corrosion resistant by design.
The finish is a Dulux® or Interpon® powder coat, made for outdoor use and applied in our own accredited facility.
The 63% open area of a PurePerf® panel lets gusts pass through it rather than pushing against it.
Every edge is linished, which means sanded smooth. No burrs, no cheese-grater finish.

Designs and colours
Every design is cut into the same marine-grade panel and powder coated to order in the colour you choose. You can mix them along one fence: plain PurePerf® where you want the view, a design where you want privacy or a feature.
Black is the most popular colour, because it is the hardest to see. Monument, Woodland Grey, Ironstone, Surfmist and white all have their place, and the full Dulux® and Interpon® ranges are there when you need an exact match.
Watching the budget? PolyPerf® is built to look like PoolPerf® at a more economical price, and it has a site of its own. Between them, there is a solution for every property.
White pool fencing
Some homes ask for white, and on some it is the only colour that works. A light colour gives more privacy than black, and you still see through it. White has a page of its own, with 52 photos and four films.
Made to measure
Pool areas are rarely flat and square, so every PoolPerf® panel is made to your measurements. The awkward parts are ordinary work here: a raked panel (one cut on an angle), a stepped panel (one shaped to sit over a step in the ground or a wall), an extra-high panel, a custom gate.

More than pool fences
The same designs and colours carry on past the pool: as balustrading for drops over a metre (the rail that stops someone falling off a deck or a balcony), privacy screening, planter surrounds and architectural features. That is how a lot of projects end up with one matching look right through the outdoor space, instead of a fence that stops at the pool.

Meets the rules
PoolPerf® panels are made to AS1926.1, the Australian Standard for pool fencing, and independently tested in a NATA-accredited laboratory (test report AZT0434.19). NATA is the national body that accredits test labs. Every panel is part of the PerfSafe® certified system, which is what assures its strength, and comes with a 10-year warranty.
A panel that meets the standard does not make the whole fence meet it, though. Heights, ground clearance, gate hardware and the non-climbable zone (the space around a fence that has to be kept clear of anything a child could climb on) all matter. Whether your whole pool area passes also depends on how the fence is installed: heights, ground clearance, gate hardware and the non-climbable zone (the space around a fence that has to be kept clear of anything a child could climb on). Your installer or pool certifier checks those on site. The rules differ from state to state - see our guide to pool fence rules and heights by state.
In how it is built. The frame is tabbed and slotted: tabs on one piece lock into slots in the next, which is unique to PoolPerf®. The perforated sheet is fitted after the frame is assembled and square, then riveted around its full edge. Every panel leaves the factory assembled, and every gate carries the PoolPerf® plate.
It depends on the length of the fence, the height, the number of gates and whether you choose a design, so we quote it for your yard. A Design Consult is free, and there is no obligation.
Up to 3 metres. The frame and the riveted sheet behave as one piece, which is what lets a PoolPerf® panel span that far.
They are the two ways a panel is fixed to its posts. With Channel Fit, channels (U-shaped tracks) fix to the posts and the panel slides in, so there are no visible brackets and no gap at the posts. With Bracket Fit, brackets clamp onto the frame, so panels can be trimmed on site to suit awkward spacing or existing posts. Your installer will recommend one, and the DIY site walks through Channel Fit and Bracket Fit.
Aluminium does not rust the way steel does. PoolPerf® is marine-grade 5052 aluminium, pre-treated against corrosion and powder coated, which means given a baked-on colour finish. Our product care page sets out how to look after that finish.

Nothing like glass does. There is no glass to show fingerprints or splash marks, and water goes through the holes and dries. What the finish does need is a rinse with fresh water every so often, and more often near the coast. Our product care page sets out how often.
Yes. The panel is smooth to the touch, so a dog that jumps up at the fence will not hurt its paws, and a dog on the outside can still see the family through it.
Yes. Balustrading is the rail that stops someone falling off a deck or a balcony, and ours comes in the same designs and colours as the pool fence. Where the deck opens onto the pool, the pool balustrade does both jobs with one panel.
