Competitor Comparison

18. Are all perforated pool fences the same?

No. Kit form perforated fencing requires on-site assembly, which can:

  • Lead to incorrect assembly and non-compliance
  • Damage panels and coatings
  • Reduce strength and rigidity

PoolPerf® Advantage:

  • Professionally assembled in a controlled factory environment
  • Tabbed-and-slotted frame system - the frame members tab and slot into one another, preventing twist and guaranteeing the frame stays square. This construction is unique to PoolPerf®
  • The perforated infill is installed independently, after the frame is assembled, then riveted around the full perimeter with pre-treated, powder-coated rivets for added strength
  • Built to exact specifications for AS 1926.1 compliance
  • Delivered ready to install with compliance documentation

More questions

A panel of marine-grade aluminium with a fine pattern punched through it, held in a powder-coated frame. You can see and breathe through it like glass, but it’s metal - so it can’t shatter, it doesn’t show handprints, and it can be made in any pattern you like.

PoolPerf® panels are manufactured to AS1926.1 and independently tested in a NATA-accredited laboratory (test report AZT0434.19), as part of the Perf Safe® certified system. Worth knowing though: a compliant panel doesn’t automatically make a compliant barrier - heights, ground clearance, gate hardware and the non-climbable zone all matter too.

It sits above the cheap imported perforated panels and below quality glass. We don’t publish prices here because every job differs - metres of fencing, number of gates, design, colour, ground conditions and whether you’re having it installed. Tell us about your pool and we’ll get you a real number rather than a guess.

Glass looks superb on day one. PoolPerf® still looks good in year five without you doing anything to it. You lose a little transparency and gain: no cleaning, airflow through the fence, nothing that can shatter, easier handling of sloping ground, and endless design and colour possibilities instead of one look.

It’s 2.5mm 5052 marine-grade aluminium - the alloy used in boats - finished in Dulux or Interpon powder coat. Aluminium doesn’t rust. All paint finishes gradually lose some gloss with natural weathering, and dark colours show it more than light ones, but you won’t be repainting it.

Hose it down. There’s no squeegeeing, no polishing and no repainting. A periodic wash keeps the powder coat in good order, particularly in coastal or dusty areas.

Yes, and this is where it clearly beats glass. Panels can be raked - made with an angled top - to follow the fall of the land, rather than stepped down in awkward increments with gaps underneath.

Almost certainly. Endless design and colour possibilities, plus the option to send us your own artwork to be punched. Custom sizes are routine rather than an exception.

No. PoolPerf® is available both installed by an accredited local Trade Partner and supplied direct for you to install yourself. Panels arrive fully assembled either way. Which suits you depends on your site and your confidence - there’s a short quiz on our Which Path page if you’re undecided.

Ten years against manufacturing defects, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Some exclusions apply - notably installations within 1km of the sea or within 1.5m of the pool splash zone, and damage from impact, misuse or harsh chemicals. Full terms are available on request.

Designed, punched, pre-treated, powder-coated and assembled at our own facility at Molendinar on the Gold Coast. Not imported and not sub-contracted.
