The official home of PoolPerf® perforated pool fencing
Warning · Buyer beware
Some fence installers are telling customers they are getting PoolPerf® when they are not. Some paid ads online use the PoolPerf® name to sell a different, imported product.
Before you sign anything or pay a deposit, here is how to make sure your fence is the genuine, Australian made PoolPerf®.
The biggest tell of all: if your installer has to assemble the fence panels, it is not PoolPerf®.
What is happening
Some installers quote for PoolPerf®, or tell you that what they are putting in is “the same thing”, then install an imported perforated fence instead. Most people do not find out until something goes wrong.
Some paid ads on Google and social media are written to come up when you search for PoolPerf®, but the business behind them does not sell it. If a paid ad says PoolPerf®, check who is behind it before you call. How to check.
We get phone calls from homeowners who are unhappy with the quality of their new fence. When we ask a few questions, we find out it was never PoolPerf®. By then the fence is in, the installer has been paid, and it is too late for us to help. This page is here so that does not happen to you.
Why can we not just stop it? Imported perforated fencing is sold through trade suppliers, so any fence contractor can buy it. We cannot police every job in Australia. But you can check yours, and it only takes five questions.
Photos sent in by a homeowner
These photos were sent to us by a homeowner whose fence installer told them they were getting PoolPerf®. What was delivered was an imported perforated fence in kit form, put together in their backyard. Look closely at the corners and the paint. Press any photo to see it full size.

Every PoolPerf® panel and gate leaves our factory fully assembled. There is nothing to put together on site.
Before you pay a deposit
Ask them out loud, or better still, put them in an email so you have the answers in writing. An installer selling the genuine product will be happy to answer every one.
What to listen forThe answer should be PoolPerf®, bought direct from us or through one of our Distributors or Trade Partners. If they will not tell you, ask yourself why.
What to listen forPoolPerf® is made by Decoview® in our own factory in Molendinar, on the Gold Coast in Queensland. If they name anyone else, or are not sure, it is not PoolPerf®.
What to listen forIf they say they assemble it, it is not PoolPerf®. Every PoolPerf® panel and gate arrives fully assembled from our factory. Your installer only has to put it up.
What to listen forIf the answer is not 3 metres, it is not PoolPerf®. PoolPerf® panels are made to measure, up to 3 metres long.
What to listen forWith PoolPerf®, yes. The frame is textured black to match the panel. Some imitation products put a satin black frame (a smoother, slightly shiny finish) around a textured panel, and you can see the difference side by side.

Badged for authenticity
Every gate we make carries the PoolPerf® plate on its top rail, marked By Decoview® and AS1926.1 (the Australian Standard for pool fencing). It is how you know the fence is genuine.
So say it early. Tell your installer you know PoolPerf® badges its gates, and that you will be checking for the plate when the fence goes in. Someone selling the real thing will not mind at all.
And get it in writing
If it is not badged, it is not ours.
Know your rights
If your quote, invoice or contract says PoolPerf® and you were given something else, that is not a small mix-up. Under Australian law it can be misleading conduct, a breach of your consumer guarantees, and the misuse of a registered trade mark.
It must not mislead you about what it is selling: the brand, the quality, or where it was made (sections 18 and 29 of the Australian Consumer Law). Goods must also match their description. If what you got is very different from what was described, that counts as a major failure, and you choose the remedy: a refund, a replacement, or compensation.
Australian trade mark 1883494, registered for pool fencing and metal fencing. Putting it on a quote, an invoice or an ad for fencing we did not make can infringe our trade mark. Falsely applying a registered trade mark to goods can also be a criminal offence under the Trade Marks Act 1995.
In Queensland, anyone doing building work worth more than $3,300 needs a QBCC licence. The QBCC handles complaints about defective work, and the Queensland Home Warranty Scheme can help if work is faulty or unfinished. Every other state has its own building regulator.
A word to installers and tradies
Under the Australian Consumer Law, the maximum penalty for a false or misleading representation is $2.5 million for an individual. For a company it is the greatest of $100 million, three times the benefit, or 30% of turnover. Falsely applying a registered trade mark can bring heavy fines and up to five years in prison.
Every PoolPerf® gate is badged, so a customer can prove in seconds what they were given. When we find our name on fencing we did not make, we will report it to the ACCC and the relevant regulator, and we will act to protect our trade mark.
This is general information, not legal advice. For your own situation, talk to your state’s fair trading office or a lawyer. Sources: penalties under the Australian Consumer Law, consumer guarantees (Queensland Government), the role of the QBCC, QCAT minor civil disputes, Trade Marks Act 1995.
Our names, and what they mean
Every one of our trade marks stands for something we created, here in Queensland. They are registered so that when you see one of these names, you know exactly who made your fence and who stands behind it. They protect you as much as they protect us.
Only Decoview Pty Ltd can authorise the use of these names. Our Distributors and Trade Partners use them with our permission, because what they sell is genuinely ours.

Made and assembled in Queensland
Engineered, designed, perforated, powder coated and assembled right here in Queensland. Each frame locks together at the corners (we call it tab and slot), so the panel cannot twist, and the perforated sheet is then riveted in all the way round. You get a finished panel. Your installer just puts it up.
Paid ads and websites
Anyone can pay for an ad, and anyone can put a name in it. If an ad says PoolPerf® but the business does not sell it, they are using our name to get your call. Three quick checks:
Installing it yourself? Read the checklist for DIY buyers. Choosing an installer? Read what to ask a pool fence installer.
An ad, a website or an installer: send us the name, a link or a screenshot. It helps us protect the next family.
